10. Drug Addiction in a Cage

We’ve been told drug addiction is a mental disease, a moral failure, the consequential result of the repeated exposure to certain chemicals. After a journey of discovery and better understanding of the subject, I came to redefine its core meaning and critically question my first assumptions. Professor Bruce Alexander’s Rat Park test constitutes the foundation of my illustrated essay.
